This in-person only event explores the many ways in which biases shape cultural heritage data and the implications they have for GLAM institutions and their Labs worldwide. As discussions around this topic continue to gain momentum, the ÖNB has invited experts to share their perspectives on gender bias in cultural heritage data, the cultural biases that influence collecting and curating practices, and the impact of algorithmic bias in the tools and technologies used across the sector. The program will conclude with a panel discussion that will reflect on the challenges involved and explore strategies for addressing and mitigating potential biases.

ÖNB Labs Symposium 2026

Immediately preceding the symposium, the CLARIAH-AT Roadshow is taking place at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. To facilitate attendance at both events, the programme of both events has been coordinated accordingly.
