Digital Editions of medieval and early modern accounts

Digital methods seem to lend themselves for the edition of accounts and economic records, as counting and calculation is something computers are good in. But the discussion about digital scholarly edition has concentrated on philologic questions. In cooperation with several partners the ZIM is developing models how encode this kind of material not only as texts or as visual representations but as a numerical representation too.
